It would mean that you may have indeed removed all of its drivers and files from of the System but the components in the WBEM folder where Security Center detects files for a security software still remains. This is a particular issue of uninstallation for ZoneAlarm. To run updates and scans with SAS or Malwarebytes while it's on. If you are having an issue with the security center when MSE real-time is off, just leave it on. I have had MSE, SAS and Malwarebytes on here for almost three months with not one single issue. Uninstaller that is very good too, called revo. Also you could try to disable MSE real time and reinstall zonealarm, then uninstall it with the ccleaner uninstaller, but I don't know if MSE will give you a problem there or not. There is another If it does, then I definitely have it off. Neither are in any exclude list or anything like that. I never turn off the MSE real-time protection, and I can run scans anytime with superantispyware or malwarebytes, and I have no problem updating either one of them. Make sure the obselete software box has a checkmark My suggestion would be to run ccleaner registry and see if you can find some leftover registry entries from zonealarm.

Thanks for any feedback on how to proceed, Should I do this, or is there some other trick to getting ZA completely OFF the system (CCleaner, or some other program, perhaps)? Is this a sign that the AV part of Zonealarm did not fully uninstall, and if so, how should I proceed? The only thing I can think of would be to uninstall MSE, then reinstall Zonealarm, then try to uninstall Zonealarm again, but I don't know what I would doĭifferent with the Zonealarm removal, and I'm worried that this could mess things up even further. Tells me that "Multiple AV programs are present" but that they "may not be up to date." When I turn MSE back on, the security center just says that MSE is up to date and running. MSE appears to be running normally, and is reported as up to date and active by the security center, but I noticed that when I disable the real-time MSE scanner (in order to run other spyware scans like Superantispyware or Malwarebytes), Windows Security Center There were NO other steps to take to uninstall Zonealarm, so I went ahead and installed MSE thinking itĬould perhaps fix the security center message. I noticed that afterĭoing this, however, the Windows Security Center reported that "Zonealarm Antivirus" was "off" rather than telling me that no AV scanner was installed. The entire uninstall/removal process went normally - there were no apparent glitches.

I uninstalled Zonealarm Extreme Security from a system, including using their "removal" tool AND following their "manual removal" instructions.
